Auction Planning Has Begun!
The LWGMS April 24 auction - an important community and fundraising event - is six months away! Procurement packets will be distributed this and next week, so please keep an eye out for them. Our parents are an essential component of the auction's success - and we appreciate all of your help and support! Feel free to contact Shannon (gro.smgwl|lledsialbs#gro.smgwl|lledsialbs) with any questions you may have about the contents of the procurement packets or the process of procuring auction donations or sponsorships.
If you are interested in getting involved with planning our April 24th auction, please join us on Monday, November 16 from 7-8pm for our first Auction Committee Meeting. Many of our auction committee members are 8th grade parents, so we would love for 6th grade parents get involved. All are welcome. This is will be one of the very few meetings the committee will have; most of our communication is done through email! If you're interested in anything-auction, we will certainly have a job for you! Please contact Shannon or our Auction Chair, Michelle Huse (moc.oohay|esuhhm#moc.oohay|esuhhm), with any questions you may have before the meeting.
Thank you for your support!

Golf
The First Tee of Greater Seattle is offering a unique opportunity for girls to learn golf and life skills this spring. The First Tee uses the game of golf to empower girls through its character education curriculum. Our goal is not only to introduce girls to a game they can play their whole lives by use the game as a tool for teaching The First Tee's "Nine Core Values:" Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Judgment, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, and Courtesy. Golf is an ideal sport for young girls to learn. Not only are there hundreds of college scholarships that go unused each year for women golfers, it is an individual sport that naturally introduced girls to a host of mentors while providing healthy exercise.
