Welcome!
We are so pleased to offer art as an academic class all year long. Sixth grade will have art every Monday from 1:40-3:15; what a fantastic way to end the day!
To start the year, 6th graders will be making "Who Am I?" sillouette collages, exploring personal symbolism through images and color. This will coincide with the Humanities curriculum, where students will be examining their sense of self, family, and community. Much of the first month of school will be spent looking at our personal communities, and how they define our sense of self.
There should rarely, if ever, be any homework in art class. If your daughter is struggling with art class in ANY way, please urge her to chat with me.
I'm looking forward to making "creative messes" this year!
