We are starting our Scavenger Hunt Project. Today you should have plotted out the steps and references. It is just a matter of translating it to produce your rough draft. Get what you can done tonight and in school. Take Thanksgiving break off and have a great time!
Tarea
The rough draft for your scavenger hunt will be due on Wed. Dec. 2nd.
SCAVENGER HUNT
-Write directions to a secret treasure ( lolipop, candy, sticker, pencil etc)
-The hunt will take place in the school building.
-You must have at least 5 clue cards for your hunt. Each card should have at least 5 directions.
Each card should give you instructions to the next clue. The last card should lead
you to your treasure.
Use your prepositional phrases!!
example card : Pista numero uno: Use la puerta cerca de la computadora y toma tres pasos ysalga de la clase de español. Dobla a la derecha y camina siete pasos por el pasillo. Dobla a la derecha y mira debajo del locker que está enfrente de tí. Allí está la pista numero 2.

The step by step directions should be on one side of the card and the mystery place on the back side. Remember this will be hung up by your map. The goal is to see if a classmate can figure out your mystery location.

For homework you will be drawing and labeling an imaginary town map. This map must be at least the size of a legal size sheet of paper if not larger. It will have a lot of content so it MUST be legible.
The map must be labeled in Spanish and must include:
1) Your house (mi casa)
2) The home of 2 friends that live on different streets in town.
3) A central PLaza
4) ther must be at least 10 avenues/avenidas or streets/calles . Avenidas and Calles must be labeled( remember that in Spanish Avenida and Calle come beforethe name ex: Avenida San Miguel
5) At least 12 of the locations mentioned in your new vocabulary list. Make sure there are streets around your points of interest.
6) MUST BE NEAT, CLEAR AND IN COLOR !!!

The Present Progressive is used to express an action that is happening now.
ex. I am singing today. Estoy cantando hoy.
You use present tense of estar + present participle (ing)
To make the present participle:
ar verbs = drop ar and add ando
er and ir verbs + drop er or ir and add iendo
ex. cantar - cantando
ex. comer - comiendo
ex. escribir - escribiendo

The telenovelas that did a run through today look great!

Due to absences and illnesses (including mine) I have decided to give you an extention on your telenovela perfomance.
It must be performed by Thursday October 15th. There wil be no extentions after that.
You may make a video of your telenovela if that is easier for your group to coordinate. Please make good use of this extra time.
Several of the groupw will be performing on Monday please be prepared!

Work on your telenovela. By Wed. you should be well on your way to memorizing your part and know what props and costumes you are using for the final presentation. You will have one run through on Wed. in class and then have a final dress rehearsal on Thursday.

The plot line for your telenovela should be clear at this point. In class we will continue to work on the details of your script.
The Rough Draft is DUE ON MONDAY Sept.28th. Each group member should have an assignment. (act or character/scene descriptions to work on). If you use your time wisely in class and over the next few days this should be manageable.

Continuamos el repaso y las preparaciones para la telenovela.
We have started our Telenovela project. There are no specific project dates due to our field trip and PNAIS visit. I will give you deadline as we go along.
You have been divided into your groups and should have settled on a plot.
Here are the project guidelines:
Telenovela Project
Assignment : Write and perform a telenovela. This project incorporates a written component as well as a presentation.
This is a GROUP project. All members of the group should be able to clearly indicate their role in the project.
Your telenovela should have 3 scenes.
1. The Set Up: where the characters and setting are introduced.
2. The Drama: where the crisis comes to light.
3. The Resolution: where the drama is resolved
Parameters
Written Project:
1. Telenovela/Play should include: Setting description, character description, stage directions and dialogue in Spanish.
2. You must insert into your story line the school motto “Strong in mind body and voice” (Fuerte en mente, cuerpo y voz).
3.Should be 5-6 pages typed. Double spaced and clearly labeled.
4. You should include as many of the (review) content areas from your textbook as possible. These were gone over in class. Consult with your group if you are unclear what these are.
Presentation:
1. Should be clearly presented and organized.
2. Dialogue should be MEMORIZED!!!
3. Should be approximately 5-10 minutes in length.
4. Be prepared! If you have props, have them handy. Set up should not take more that a few minutes.
